A voice in a dream
Not so different from
The one I hear awake
Sometimes louder than other times
Never silent
In the dream,
its drone goes mostly unnoticed,
unheeded
Until joined by another
And together
In whispered harmony
They say a name
Waking for a moment I think,
“Two voices together
this must be worth remembering”
Then I fall away
back beneath the cloud of sleep
Later, in sunlight, of course
The name is gone
